Billing & Payments

FAQSIR subscriptions are managed through the billing page in your dashboard. From here you can view your current plan, change plans, manage payment methods, download invoices, and monitor your usage.

Subscription Management

Your Current Plan

The billing page displays a summary of your active subscription including:

  • Your current plan name and pricing
  • Subscription status (active, trialing, on grace period, or cancelled)
  • Next billing date
  • Current usage against your plan quotas

Changing Plans

You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from the billing page:

  • Upgrading takes effect immediately. You gain access to the new plan's features and quotas right away, and your billing is prorated for the remainder of the current period.
  • Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access to your current plan's features until then.

Downgrade considerations

When downgrading, any features not available on the new plan will become inaccessible at the end of your current billing period. For example, if you downgrade from Pro to Plus, you will lose access to Advanced AI Chat, Bloomberg Syndication, and the Engagement Dashboard. If you downgrade from Plus to Starter, you will also lose AI Chat, AI Video, Hosted News Articles, Sentiment Analysis, and Google Syndication. Your existing generated content remains accessible, but new features specific to the higher plan will be unavailable.

Cancelling Your Subscription

You can cancel your subscription from the billing page. When you cancel:

  • Your subscription enters a grace period lasting until the end of your current billing period
  • You retain full access to all features during the grace period
  • After the grace period ends, your API tokens will return 402 Payment Required responses
  • Your data is retained and accessible if you choose to resubscribe later

Resuming a Cancelled Subscription

If you cancelled but are still within your grace period, you can resume your subscription from the billing page. Resuming restores your subscription without any interruption in service.

Payment Methods

FAQSIR uses Stripe for secure payment processing. All payments are in USD ($).

Managing Your Payment Method

Click the "Manage Payment Method" link on the billing page to open the Stripe Customer Portal, where you can:

  • Update your credit or debit card
  • Add a new payment method
  • Set a default payment method
  • View payment history

Secure payments

FAQSIR never stores your card details directly. All payment information is securely managed by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor.

Invoices

The billing page includes a complete invoice history. For each invoice, you can:

  • View the invoice details (amount, date, status)
  • Download a PDF copy for your records

Invoices are generated automatically on each billing date and for any one-time purchases (such as video credits).

Usage Monitoring

The billing page displays your current usage for each plan quota, with visual indicators:

Source Usage

Shows the total number of sources (unique page URLs) processed during the current billing period. All plans include unlimited sources, so there is no quota to track — this is an informational metric.

Video Credit Balance

Displays your available video credits, including both monthly plan allowance and purchased credit packs. See Video Credits for purchasing additional credits.

Trial Period

First-time site owners may be eligible for a trial period. During the trial:

  • You have full access to your selected plan's features
  • No payment is required until the trial ends
  • The trial length is configured by the FAQSIR team
  • Only your first site is eligible for a trial — additional sites require an active subscription immediately

Trial to subscription

At the end of your trial, your subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription. Ensure you have a valid payment method on file to avoid service interruption. If you do not wish to continue, cancel before the trial ends.

Billing FAQ

When does my billing period reset? Your billing period starts on the day you subscribed and renews monthly on the same date.

What happens if my payment fails? Stripe will retry the payment automatically. If the payment continues to fail, your subscription may be marked as incomplete. You can update your payment method from the billing page to resolve this.

Can I get a refund? Contact the FAQSIR support team for refund requests.

Are sources limited? No. All plans include unlimited press releases (sources). There is no monthly cap on the number of unique page URLs you can process.

Do purchased video credits expire? Check the credit details on the billing page for expiry information on each credit pack.
